How we became EVE

Empowered Versatile Enablement – EVE was born in 2017 and was founded by Pravina Young & Frances Robbertse. Combined they have more than 40 years’ experience in the ICT industry.  Sounds like a typical story of a start-up?

This is no ordinary start-up.  Both Pravina and Frances has worked for the EDGE Evolve group for more than a decade.  Each of them have performed different roles and functions withing the group, from finance, channel management, pre-sales to ultimately senior management roles.

The EDGE Evolve group’s mission statement is to “Connect people to their aspirations through technology”.  The leadership of the group Yusuf Salejee (Chairman and founder) & Manny Moreira(CEO and founder)  lived this statement when they offered Pravina and Frances the opportunity to create their own company, independent from the group, but truly supporting the objectives of government to empower woman in business.

Not only did they support the creation of the company, but they provided the full infrastructure of the group, this includes access to the finance, legal, HR & IT Support to EVE.  Office space, access to boardrooms, reception, all equipment for presentations was included.  At no cost to EVE

The support extended to the support and mentorship from the EDGE Evolve management team & the Bid Office to enable the submission of quality tenders.

With the backing of the group EVE was able to secure reseller rights through Tarsus On Demand for Microsoft 365 & MimeCast, Tarsus Distribution for hardware, Fortinet & Schneider Electric.

EVE’s service offerings for recruitment, capacity resourcing, digital marketing, & customer management services are fully outsourced to EVE from the group.

With this arsenal of products and the support of the whole EDGE Evolve management and sales team, EVE has been able to grow from the two founders to 6 staff members.

EVE has successfully won the tender to replace the National Prosecution Agencies RACS across the country supplied by Schneider Electric.  The Pension Fund Adjudicator is another flagship customer where EVE provides SharePoint services.  SA Fashion Week (SAFW), one of our first customers and now partner to provide their digital support and their information technology arm.

LALALUXXE.COM was a product of the engagement with SAFW.  LALALUXXE.COM is an e-commerce store that sells only South African designers. 

The EDGE Evolve group has not just made the right noises around woman empowerment; they are living it every day.  EVE is successful proof of their commitment.
